Let’s put on underwear and take off the filters…for Valentine’s Day.
As women, it’s common to dress up for our SO for Valentines Day. We get dolled up and put pressure on ourselves to be EXTRA, but before you ever dress for someone else, you should learn to dress for yourself. You should learn to love yourself without filters. You should see yourself in the raw as beautiful.
I recently read a quote that stuck with me: “In general people are not drawn to perfection in others. People are drawn to shared interests, shared problems, and an individual’s life energy. Humans connect with humans. Hiding one’s humanity and trying to project an image of perfection makes a person vague, slippery, lifeless, and uninteresting.” -Robert Glover
Here’s what I’m suggesting. Commit to the idea that you are absolutely gorgeous. Embrace imperfections, because they are much more attractive than perfection. Don’t get dressed to convince your SO you’re sexy. Dress in whatever makes you feel unapologetically comfortable in your own skin. To make a solid point, I put on this beautiful, soft set from Soma Intimates and pranced around unapologetically, and now I’m posting these pictures unedited unapologetically. When you are comfortable in your skin you are confident and, in my opinion, confidence is beauty. Remember what you’re wearing can make you feel like you are projecting who you are with confidence and Soma Intimates always has a women’s comfort and beauty in mind. This Wireless Embraceable Bra is incredibly soft and comfortable, allowing me to be the best version of myself. I have confidence that my husband sees me every day without filters or editing, and loves me. I believe it’s important that I provide myself with the same love not just on Valentine’s Day, but every day!
So let’s put on underwear and take off the filters, and remember you are the queen of loving yourself before anyone else. Trust in what makes YOU feel confident. For me, this classic white set allowed me to feel comfortable in my own skin. I’m dropping the editing and filters and walls and embracing the love I feel.
