Like I mentioned in my previous post, we tend to think the grass is literally greener on the other side and not be thankful for the amazing things our town has to offer. Lately, I’ve been trying to find fun restaurants and new things to do in Scottsdale. One of my favorite recent discoveries is the art installation over the Scottsdale canal near Old Town Scottsdale.

Here’s a little about the rainbow installation that sways so elegantly over the canal:

“Stretching for three football fields along the Scottsdale Waterfront, “Reflection Rising” is the latest large-scale project commissioned by Scottsdale Public Art. Made of thousands of nylon streamers designed to take the air like a kite, it’s the brainchild of Los Angeles-based artist Patrick Shearn, whose massive art-meets-engineering creations have been seen at the Burning Man festival in Nevada, the 2008 Beijing Olympics and all around the world.”

You can read more about it here.

And here’s some more shots and shapable links to the outfit I wore that day!
