NYFW MILLY (1 of 3)
This past week I was whisked away in pursuit of dreams made of high fashion. More simply put, I hopped a plane to the big apple to witness some of the most beautiful talent in fashion for the first time ever.
While it’s become evident my last 16 years in Arizona have softened me considerably, I dug deep and rediscovered my feistiness, which is 100% necessary when taking Fashion Week by the horns solo.
I’m dividing my experience into 3 blog posts based on the looks I sported, and events I attended. This first one being solely about MILLY. If I use the word amazing to an annoying extent, it’s because everything about this line and brand has exceeded expectations.
I was fortunate enough to be dressed in MILLY by the brand. The best way I can describe this dress is femme fatale meets Cinderella. I felt like the belle of the Fashion Week ball, yet the textures and colors brought so much sex appeal and mystery. This fairytale dress was one with a plot twist. I’m not chasing my prince, rather, I’m fearlessly chasing my dreams through the streets of NY city.
The Spring Line
Michelle Smith projected just my feelings in her runway show. I would welcome every single look into my wardrobe, but I was especially fond of the slouchy off-one-shoulder silhouettes, lace up details, and striking colors. These pieces spoke a message of sexy-strength, the same sexy-strength I felt pursuing the big city streets solo while wearing my MILLY dress.
I was impressed, in love, and very grateful to be in the presence of a team that projected such talent and kindness.
